Hiking at altitude

Step after step, sometimes on dry rock, sometimes on soft grass. Before your eyes, the peaks of the surrounding massifs rise and change shade and color as the day progresses. You’re not dreaming, these extraordinary landscapes are offered to you in pure authenticity, with an easy departure from Oz 3300s resort for all your hikes.

Le plateau des Lacs des Petites Rousses at 2050m altitude

A natural heritage site, this easily accessible plateau has fabulous treasures in store for you. Green mountain pastures, five high altitude lakes nestled in the valleys, rhododendrons and bilberry bushes lining the trails. This landscape is a true invitation to calm and serenity. It’s an opportunity to recharge your batteries in the fresh, green air, for a picnic or a walk. Whatever your level, you’re sure to enjoy your outdoor outing on our high-altitude plateaus, to the sound of whistling marmots!

The Grandes Rousses plateau at 2800m altitude

700m higher up, you’ll find a completely different atmosphere. The vivid ochre rocks of the Grandes Rousses massif will transport you into a lunar, poetic landscape. To the north, a series of young lakes born of melting glaciers, giving them crystal-clear turquoise water. To the south, the immensity of Lac Blanc and views of Alpe d’Huez and the Parc des Ecrins. For the more adventurous, you can take the Pas de la Cochette trail to the Col du Couard and Vaujany. The Barbarate glacier and Pic Bayle will be watching you from their promontory, over 3000m above sea level.

Gondola or trail access!
