Recharge your batteries at lakes and waterfalls

Oz, its broad forests of fir and larch, its verdant alpine meadows and high granite cliffs. Who would suspect the wealth of fresh, crystal-clear water in this Alpine territory? A stream at the bend of a path, or lakes perched on the high plateaus… As you stroll along the trails, from undergrowth to the foot of the peaks, enjoy nature at its best.

The atmosphere

of alpine lakes

At 2000m altitude, vast alpine meadows and blueberry fields will welcome you for a family picnic, a walk with your best 4-legged friend, or during a wild yoga & meditation session. Take the time to choose your favorite lake: Carrelet, Lamat, Faucille, Noir or Besson?

At 2800m, the lunar atmosphere of the rock will transport you to the Plan des Cavalles. To the north, the lakes of Milieu, La Fare and Balme Rousse. Under the Glacier de la Barbarate, the dry sound of your footsteps on the sandstone tiles will lead you to longer, more strenuous hikes. To the south, marvel at the turquoise water of Lac Blanc overlooking Alpe d’Huez.

A deux pas

des cascades

Le petit torrent du Roubier offers a magical spectacle for young adventurers. In summer, it’s a popular spot for hikers, who recharge their batteries for a break in the cool forest. This stream will accompany you from the plateaus down to the valley, passing through the Oz resort, Bessey, Roberand and the village, where it once fed the old mill. On the Alpette trail, your childlike soul will delight in listening to the lapping of the streams you cross. If you prefer to follow the Col de Poutran GR, you’ll discover the strength and beauty of nature as it flows.

The treasures of the Grandes Rousses massif :

> Iron mines dating back to the Middle Ages.

> Historical monuments such as the Abri Rajon and the Refuge de La Fare from the days of the Oisans Resistance.

> Quartz crystal spikes found near trails.
